Several public organizations, including the Municipality and Province of Utrecht, teamed with MTBS in 2009 to develop a long term integral vision to optimize cargo transport by barge and rail for the inland port and industrial zone of Lage Weide and the Greenfield location of Het Klooster in Nieuwegein. After the finalization of the report, the implementation of the vision has started with a meeting with existing companies.
