mtbs at the 5th Intermodal Africa Conference
2007-04-10 16:34
mtbs was invited to present a paper on port privatization trends on the occasion of the 5th anniversary of the leading conference on ports and logistics in this emerging continent.
Director Paul van Eulem delivered a speech on creating valuable PPPs in the port sector. Whereas the African ports are gradually moving towards a landlord model it is found that the process of privatization is still far from optimal. Paul van Eulem addressed important issues such as bankability, the benefit of “value driven” transactions rather than “deal driven” concessions and the need for smart contracting between public and private partners.
mtbs is a leading player transaction advisor in the African ports sector for both public and private Clients and have been mandated amongst others in Tunesia, Nigeria, Liberia, South Africa, Madagascar and many other countries.
