mtbs will be advising the Dutch Ministry of Transport in the optimization of its policy on the Mainport of Rotterdam and the Maritime Cluster, including the shipping segment.
The Dutch sea shipping policy was renewed in 1996, resulting in a strong growth of the fleet of sea ships under the Dutch flag. Since then many European countries copied the Dutch policy, thus diminishing the strong position of the Dutch shipping sector. The Ministry of Transport is presently reassessing its Maritime and Shipping Policy.
mtbs together with the Erasmus University in Rotterdam were commissioned by the Ministry to perform a study on the mutual economic impact between the Mainport of Rotterdam, the Dutch Maritime Cluster and the Shipping segment.
