MTBS is the lead firm of a consortium of advisory firms which assists the Nigerian government in developing a strategy that will improve the efficiency of inland waterways transportation. Part of the project is to create the right institutional framework for the port reform process and to restructure the National Inland Waterway Authority (NIWA) into a landlord authority. Ultimate goal of the project is to turn the great potential of the inland waterways into a flourishing and well established IWT-sector. Therefore private participation in the sector has to be realized. For which a concession for part of the IWT business will be brought to the market via international tenders. MTBS acts as transaction adviser in this tender.
