Niger Dry Port Transaction Advise

Nigeria

2009-2009
The Government of Niger has the mission to realize a dry port project in Niger with the objective to facilitate the processing of goods through the integration of a multimodal transportation system, to reduce costs and transport times, to improve and accelerate procedures while increasing the safety of the provisioning systems, and to increase the customs and tax revenues due to better control of the transit corridors. Moreover, the development of the dry port project is of vital importance as Niger is a land-locked country depending on import goods from surrounding countries. The Government of Niger intends to realize the dry port project within the framework of a Public-Private Partnership (“PPP”) and has mandated the IFC to assist them in this project. The IFC has contracted MTBS as a PPP advisor for the project.
