Competitive Dialogue Launched for the Zagreb Deep Sea Container Terminal in Rijeka

The Port of Rijeka Authority (PRA), as the implementing agency under the Ministry of Sea, Transport and Infrastructure of the Republic of Croatia and Concession Grantor, now invites interested and eligible Port Terminal Operators to register their interest for the Concession to develop, operate and manage the Zagreb Deep Sea Container Terminal. The duration of the intended Concession is envisioned at fifty [50] years, with possible reduction, depending on the volume of the investment.

The Project Zagreb Deep Sea Container Terminal (ZDSCT) within the port of Rijeka is being developed to take advantage of the deep water and sheltered berth at the new terminal located at the western part of the port. The Zagreb Pier Deep Sea Container Terminal will be developed in a phased manner with an initial Phase 1 length of 400 m, expanding up to the length of 680 m in Phase 2. The Container Terminal being procured aims to provide a modern facility, berths with a depth exceeding 20 meters and the necessary cargo handling equipment systems for a new generation of vessels and operations.

The concessionaire will be granted the concession for development and performance of container handling activities and will also be responsible for the construction of superstructure, procurement of equipment and the development of the infrastructure for Phase 2.

Interested parties are expected to submit Requests to Participate in the competitive dialogue procedure by 3 May 2019, 10:00 a.m., local time.
