M&A – Sr. Consultant / Manager

Rotterdam

As an M&A – Sr. Consultant / Manager, you will be a key player in advising on port and logistics transactions, working closely with global terminal operators, infrastructure funds, and public-private stakeholders. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading M&A and PPP advisory projects, including investment structuring, financial modeling, and transaction execution.
  • Managing client relationships, acting as the primary point of contact for investors, operators, and financiers.
  • Overseeing due diligence and strategic assessments, evaluating port assets, concession structures, and business plans.
  • Driving transaction negotiations, supporting clients in investment proposals, deal structuring, and commercial agreements.
  • Mentoring junior team members, fostering knowledge-sharing and ensuring high-quality project outputs.

We are looking for various levels of seniority but important for this role is

At least 5 years experience in M&A in investment banking, a big-4 corporate finance department, private equity, a corporate M&A department or in a related field (around 10 years for a senior position). And a solid background in the Port & Logistics sector, ideally with strong M&A or PPP project experience.

Qualifications:

As an Analyst you will be part of the MTBS project delivery team. This team works on a global portfolio of advisory projects covering sectors such as sea and inland ports, inland waterways, industrial parks and transport corridors. Your role will be to deliver quantitative analyses, enabling your clients to make adequate investment and financing decisions. The analyses you will make include market assessments, financial modelling, feasibility analysis and traffic forecasts. From the start, you will have your own responsibilities within proposals and projects and if you are lucky with the project you are working on you will already travel in your first year.

Qualifications:

  • Master degree in e.g. Economics, Finance, Civil Engineering

  • Affinity with Port & Logistics sector

  • 0-1 years of relevant work experience
