MTBS and ECOWAS kick off the Study for the Preparation of an ECOWAS Port Maritime Masterplan.

On the 6th and 7th of April 2017, ECOWAS Project Preparation and Development Unit (PPDU) Director, Mr Sediko Douka, and his team received MTBS Director Paul Van Eulem and Senior Consultant Yohann Vallée to launch the Study for the Preparation of an ECOWAS Port Maritime Masterplan.

MTBS and partners will provide ECOWAS with a clear understanding on the situation of the maritime transport sector, along with insight in future demand and capacity constraints. The objectives of this study reflect the ambition of ECOWAS to become content-leader in the field of port and terminal developments, driving a push towards properly planned and implemented port projects to the benefit of its member states. A clear focus on implementation, funding and coordination/monitoring will be put, to ensure that the efforts by ECOWAS lead to economic improvements of its member states.

ECOWAS is a regional economic union of fifteen countries located in West Africa, representing 350 Million inhabitants.
