On Wednesday the 20th of January, MTBS, in cooperation with the Dutch Embassy in Chile, successfully presented a Port PPP and Financing workshop to the Chilean state port operator EPSA and the Chilean Ministry of Transport and Telecommunications. MTBS was represented by Frank Luisman, Adriaan de Gruijter and Victor Timmermans, who provided an insight into the successful implementation of major greenfield port PPP investment projects. The presentation introduced MTBS’ proven approach towards the bankable structuring of large greenfield port projects and provided a direct application to the Puerto Exterior San Antonio case, as well as other real life cases. The EPSA plans to launch a tender to construct a large-scale port in San Antonio, a new port construction worth USD 3.6 B. The construction of the new port is expected to commence in 2022 or 2023.
