Port Feasibility & Valuation Course (Rotterdam)
25 – 27 September 2018

The objective of the Port Feasibility and Valuation Course is to enable participants to conduct a detailed Port Feasibility and Valuation Study. Valuation, Feasibility and PPP are the key topics and the course offers an executive insight in the financial models behind that. Participants will follow a 3-day training course, where participants will receive hands-on training on the industries' valuation dynamics. The Course is structured along the phases of Port Valuation: determining Project Feasibility, determining PPP Feasibility & the optimal PPP Structure and assessment of Equity Return & Bankability. The course provides an overview of the most recent developments in Port Valuation, as well as the perspectives of different stakeholders: Public Authorities, Terminal Operators, Shipping Lines, etc.

The course is organized by Port Financial International ('PFI'), in association with Maritime & Transport Business Solutions ('MTBS') as knowledge- & hostpartner.

Who Should Attend?

The Port Feasibility and Valuation Course is developed as a training course for a range of professions:

  • Middle/Senior management level officials that are active in the port, maritime and infrastructure sector or direct stakeholders active in the industry.
  • Managers and staff, members of public and private bodies involved in port and terminal developments (both entry level and mid-management).

Prerequisites

For optimal results, a certain level of experience is expected. The participants are required:

  • To speak English;
  • To have a basic knowledge of finance; and
  • To have a working knowledge of MS Excel.

*Participants are not required to have in-depth financial modelling experience, although such experience can be beneficial for the understanding of more complex modelling topics.

Port Investments & PPP Course (London)
25 – 26 October 2018

The objective of the Port Investments & PPP Course is to provide participants with a thorough understanding of how Port and Terminal Projects are developed from Concept to Financial Close. The course will provide participants with an overview of a full-cycle port investment  assessment. Steps in this assessment are connected to the relevant stages of port investments: Strategy Formulation, Project Valuation, Transaction Documents/Procedures and Investment Financing. The positions of the relevant stakeholders in port- and terminal development are covered thoroughly, including Governments, Port Authorities, Terminal Operators, Shipping Lines, Equity Investors and Banks.

The course is organized by Port Financial International ('PFI'), in association with Maritime & Transport Business Solutions ('MTBS') as knowledge partner and JLT Specialty as Host Partner.

Who Should Attend?

The Port Investments & PPP course is developed as a tool for capacity building on three levels:

  • Managers and staff, members of public and private bodies involved in port and terminal developments (both entry level and mid-management)
  • Executives (private) and policy makers (public) of ports in transition** Ports which are planning on involvement in port institutional reforms, including concessioning and privatisation
  • University students, academic researches
