MTBS discusses investment drivers for bulk terminals during conference in Hamburg

During the Annual Conference of Bulk Terminals, which was held on the 23rd and 24th of October 2018, MTBS Director Commerce Anthony van der Hoest was invited to present his views on the most important value drivers for bulk terminal investments. In his presentation, Mr van der Hoest elaborated on recent developments and opportunities, the appropriate allocation of risks between parties, and the need for flexibility in contracts, infrastructure, and bulk terminal operations. Moreover, recommendations for future PPPs and crucial conditions for value optimisation were discussed by Mr van der Hoest.

The conference was organised by the Association of Bulk Terminal Operators (ABTO) and focused on improving safety, streamlining operations, and ensuring environmental protection to provide a strategic look at markets which drive activity and investment decisions. The event gathered port authorities, regulators, port consultants, terminal operators, and many other experts from all over the world. Key topics included prospects and investment drivers for dry bulk, greening bulk operations, adequate safety standards, and selecting the most appropriate terminal operating systems.
