DEVELOPING INTERNATIONAL TRANSHIPMENT
Port Facilities in the North of Maldives
January 2020 – April 2024
Project Description
MTBS was hired by the Government of Maldives to conduct a study for developing an international transhipment port in the North of Maldives. The study consisted of several pre-feasibility studies to identify the most commercial business case to develop a port facility either in the North or South of Maldives. After reviewing several options between ship repair, fish hub, bunker hub and a full fledged modern transhipment port, the latter has been selected for further analysis and development. The feasibility studies were concluded, and the project entered into a transaction preparation stage.
