Project Description

MTBS was hired as the traffic consultant for the New Istanbul Canal project, a flagship project in Turkey that should provide a second access to the Black Sea. MTBS was responsible for the analyses of historical traffic through the Bosporus, the economic analysis and the Black Sea and Mediterranean port competitive field analysis. The core output of the study consisted of a traffic forecast for Bosporus traffic in the period 2017 – 2070 under various scenarios.
