Project Description

MTBS was hired by the Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) to act as lead transaction advisor in the selection of an operator for 6 strategic assets in Kenya: the container terminals in Lamu and Mombasa, the SEZs in Lamu and Mombasa and the port facilities in Naivasha and Kisumu. MTBS advised KPA on the optimal transaction procedure, drafted the RFQ/RFP documents, draft concession agreement and assisted KPA in the final negotiations with the preferred bidders. In addition, MTBS conducted the commercial DD, prepared the PIM, and established the (shadow bid) valuation model.
