MTBS is proud to announce the successful closure of the Patimban Port Container Terminal transaction in West Java, Indonesia. We extend our congratulations to our client, Africa Global Logistics (AGL), as part of the TAS Consortium, which also includes Toyota Tsusho Corporation and PT Samudera Indonesia Tbk.

This transaction represents a significant milestone in the development of Indonesia’s maritime and logistics infrastructure, further strengthening the country’s position as a key hub in regional and global trade.

A Strategic Partnership for Growth

The TAS Consortium, with MTBS serving as the buy-side Transaction Advisor back in 2023, has signed the concession contract with PT Pelabuhan Patimban Internasional (PPI), successfully finalizing the agreement for the expansion and operation of the Patimban Port Container Terminal.

Patimban Port is set to be a key driver of Indonesia’s economic growth, enhancing trade connectivity and improving supply chain efficiency across Southeast Asia. Strategically located to serve the West Java market, the port will support the region’s expanding manufacturing sector and strengthen Indonesia’s position in both regional and global trade.

This collaboration between AGL, Toyota Tsusho, and Samudera Indonesia highlights the global significance of the project and underscores a shared commitment to long-term investment in Indonesia’s logistics infrastructure.

A Testament to Strong Collaboration

Reflecting on this milestone, Pierre Avesque, Head of Development at AGL, shared his insights on the collaboration with MTBS as the transaction advisor during the bidding stage in 2023:

“AGL is very proud to have completed this strategic project, thanks to the unique support and great professionalism of the MTBS team!”

MTBS is honoured to have played a key role in structuring, and preparing this transaction, ensuring a successful outcome for all stakeholders involved. Our expertise in port transactions, due diligence assessments, and infrastructure investment has once again contributed to a transformative project with far-reaching economic and operational benefits.

Driving the Future of Maritime Infrastructure

The completion of this transaction is not just a win for the TAS Consortium but also a major step forward for Indonesia’s ambitions to become a global logistics powerhouse. With its modernized facilities, enhanced operational capacity, and strategic location, Patimban Port is set to become a key gateway for international trade.

MTBS remains committed to advising and supporting leading global clients in complex port and infrastructure transactions, reinforcing our position as a trusted partner in shaping the future of global trade.
